With technical expertise in both LCA, and in the treatment of biomass in carbon accounting and goal setting, Caroline serves as a Director and LCA Lead for North America. Prior to Anthesis, Caroline spent 13 years with the National Council for Air and Stream Improvement (NCASI) where she served as the Program Manager of Sustainable Manufacturing and Climate, leading life cycle assessment (LCA), GHG inventory, and forest/biomass carbon-related projects. During her time at NCASI, Caroline provided expert assistance to companies and industry associations across the whole forest products value chain.
For 7 years, Caroline was also an Adjunct Professor at Polytechnique Montréal where she sat on the scientific committee of CIRAIG and supervised Ph.D. students applying complex LCA methods mainly to the energy sector. In addition, Caroline has been involved as an expert in several international initiatives such as the WRI/WBCSD Product Carbon Footprint Standard, the WRI/WBCSD Land Use, Carbon Removals and Bioenergy Guidelines, the editorial board of ecoinvent for pulp and paper products, the Forest Solutions Group of WBCSD. She coauthored technical reports from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the International Energy Agency (IEA). Caroline holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal.
