Training Almirall on Climate Change and Net Zero Strategy

The Situation

To address the challenges posed by climate change and global warming, Almirall has developed a plan focused on reducing its global carbon footprint and achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050. 

To reach this goal, it is essential to involve all teams in the process so that they understand the role they must play in implementing the necessary measures. One of these key teams was the procurement team. 

Our Solutions

Almirall entrusted Anthesis with providing training on Climate Change to the Procurement and External Sites Operations teams, enabling them to develop a greater understanding of climate change and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. 

The goal of this training experience was to educate them on the importance of carbon management and climate change mitigation, particularly related to supplier management and Scope 3 carbon emissions. Additionally, this training aimed to encourage Almirall’s procurement team to strengthen their commitment to sustainability and align business practices with the organisation’s emission reduction objectives. 

 The training plan consisted of 

  • Online onboarding session (30 min) 
  • E-learning module (1h), composed of 3 modules of autonomous work to be completed before attending the face-to-face session. 
  • Group face-to-face session (4h) with two people from the Anthesis team: an expert in climate change and decarbonisation and a session facilitator from the educational team. 
  • Final evaluation 

We are very satisfied with the training on climate change and the Net Zero strategy conducted with Anthesis. This experience has strengthened our procurement teams’ commitment to sustainability and will allow us to make decisions more aligned with our carbon footprint reduction objectives, thereby establishing a corporate culture focused on sustainability.
