Brian Kraft

Brian is a highly skilled director focused on human rights and ESG strategy, with 12+ years’ of management consulting experience advising executives of multinational companies across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. A deep systems-thinker, he established and leads Anthesis’s Australian supply chain and ESG program design services with deep expertise in the most challenging social and governance aspects of sustainability.

His interdisciplinary strategic thinking is perfectly suited to guide companies through complex end-to-end sustainability strategies covering the vast range of sustainability issues from human rights to emissions reduction to ethical sourcing. He drives best-practice double materiality assessments, sets indicators and targets, develops actionable roadmaps, and produces world-class sustainability reports. Having completed the GRI Professional Certification Program, Brian is also experienced at aligning strategies and disclosures to global sustainability standards like GRI, CHRB, and the UNSDGs.

With an ability to analyse an organisation’s human rights and social impacts, he designs targeted tools and mitigation strategies to bolster ethical business practices, having delivered dozens of projects for clients throughout the region across various industries.

A specialist in organisational responses to modern slavery, Brian has led slavery-risk assessments analysing tens of thousands of suppliers and built Antehsis’s in-house tool for conducting human rights due diligence and managing supply chain slavery risks. He has guided many organisations to meet and exceed compliance requirements to Australia’s Modern Slavery Act, the UK Modern Slavery Act, and several European supply chain due diligence legislations.

Coming from a global policy and government relations background where, among other things, Brian worked to improve Indonesia’s national sustainable fisheries policy framework, he worked as a management consultant in Singapore and Indonesia for nearly seven years and speaks fluent Indonesian. He frequently appeared as a political pundit on live television in Southeast Asia before moving to Australia.

Brian’s experience throughout Asia-Pacific gives him a lived-understanding of global supply chains and their complex environmental and social challenges, enabling him to advise clients on some of the more challenging aspects of sustainability and guide impactful improvements.

Academic Qualifications: Brian has a Masters of International Relations from the George Washington University in Washington DC where he specialised in Asia’s social and political economy. Brian is the recipient of two consecutive Fulbright scholarships to Indonesia. ​
