Anthesis initiates sustainable design and innovation service with video to guide companies to think about sustainability in new ways

Anthesis Consulting Group, the global sustainability consultancy, is launching a new product design and innovation service to help companies create products and packaging that reduce lifecycle impacts and deliver cost reductions to business.

The service is based on initial work undertaken for clients in the FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) sector including RB. Our work with them has been shortlisted for the 2degrees “Solution of the Year” award, with results annouced on 9th July 2014.

Anthesis will work with clients to help them quantify sustainability and commercial benefits from changing product design, packaging and supply chain systems. As part of this offering, Anthesis is using a revolutionary web-based platform to demonstrate the impact of innovative design on costs and sustainability criteria, and show the outcome of incremental changes in ingredients and processes across the portfolio.

The new service launches with a video (see above) created to help R&D directors and designers look at product and packaging design in new ways.

Brad Blundell, director of Anthesis said: “Our success developing sustainability solutions for global leaders like RB has shown there is a real need for specialist sustainability consultancy in the FMCG sector.

“Making changes to the ingredients, packaging and supply chain processes used in the development of products can deliver significant cost and sustainability savings for companies – which feed directly through to the bottom-line and benefit the reputation and brand image of the company.

“We want to inspire and empower designers and engineers to integrate sustainability considerations into their design processes and deliver real business value in the long term. We are very proud of our work with RB  and look forward to helping other clients, across a range of sectors, achieve their sustainability and business goals.”
