Anthesis Group is immensely pleased to share the news that Agneta Persson has joined as Head of Energy and Sustainable Cities for the Nordic Region. Agneta is bringing 35 years of experience in energy and environmental issues, and is a leading expert in sustainable energy systems, energy efficiency, low energy buildings, technology procurement, demand-side management and market transformation.
Agneta graduated as a Civil Engineer from the Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, and her work has since led to Agneta becoming recognised as a pioneer in the field of sustainable technology procurement. Some of Agneta’s most notable work includes managing and implementing sustainable energy projects at both the city and national level, such as Northern Djurgårdsstaden (Stockholm), Brunnshög (Lund), H + (Helsingborg), East Sala slope (Uppsala), Sibbesborg (Finland) and Fisherman’s Bend, Melbourne (Australia). She has also managed many sustainable energy efficiency and climate mitigation projects. One of these projects was implementing the EU directive on energy services and developing the first national energy efficiency action plan (NEEAP), an 18-month assignment for the Swedish Government. This involved creating part of the basis on which the government has set Sweden’s national policy plan for sustainable energy and climate.
Agneta has written more than a hundred reports on diverse specialist topics and frequently lectures and moderates at conferences across Sweden and Europe. In her new role at Anthesis, Agneta will be based in the Stockholm office.
Anthesis Chief Executive Stuart McLachlan said, “Agneta’s vast experience and expertise have relevance internationally and it’s with great pleasure that we welcome her to the Group. Agneta’s reputation extends throughout Sweden and also internationally and we are confident her arrival will build further credibility to this growing area of our business.”
Agneta Persson herself said, “It’s great to join Anthesis with such an inspiring team of new colleagues. Energy efficiency makes all of the UN Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 easier to achieve, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the opportunities created through Anthesis’ collective knowledge.”
