Anthesis Group Signs The Climate Pledge

Anthesis Group, the largest group of dedicated sustainability professionals globally, today announced it has signed The Climate Pledge. Becoming a signatory highlights Anthesis’ ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and social accountability and reinforces the belief that a purpose-driven strategy combined with robust sustainability capability builds distinctive, impactful, and high-performing businesses.  

Co-founded by Amazon and Global Optimism in 2019, The Climate Pledge is a commitment by companies to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2040—a decade ahead of the Paris Agreement’s goal of 2050. In 2020, Anthesis played a key role in delivering Amazon’s Climate Pledge Friendly program. Now, by joining the Climate Pledge initiative, Anthesis takes another step forward in its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) journey, reinforcing its mission to lead clients toward sustainable performance through an impact-driven, solution-focused approach. 

As a signatory of The Climate Pledge, Anthesis will: 

• Measure and report greenhouse gas emissions on a regular basis, leveraging Anthesis RouteZero to comprehensively record and reduce our GHG emissions. 
• Implement decarbonisation strategies in line with the Paris Agreement through real business changes and innovations, including efficiency improvements, renewable energy, materials reductions, and other carbon emission elimination strategies. 
• Neutralise any remaining emissions with additional, quantifiable, real, permanent, and socially-beneficial offsets to achieve net-zero annual carbon emissions by 2040 — a decade ahead of the Paris Agreement’s goal of 2050.

• Committing to investing in high-quality carbon credits for our legacy emissions across both Anthesis and Anthesis’ acquisitions.  
• Reinforcing our commitment to corporate responsibility and social accountability through maintaining our status as a B Corp since 2020. 
• Gaining World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) certification to work together with other businesses to accelerate the transition to a sustainable world.
